This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to your access and use of all products and services that are made available by IndieSpace, Inc. (“IndieSpace”) through the IndieSpace website, located at https://www.indiespace.org/ (the “Site”), and is incorporated into and is subject to the IndieSpace Terms of Use (the “Terms”). Capitalized terms that are not defined in the Privacy Policy have the meaning given to them in the Terms.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. This Privacy Policy only applies to information collected on or through the Site and is not intended to fully describe the privacy policies of IndieSpace. This Privacy Policy also does not apply to information collected by or provided to any third party, including any web form (e.g., Submittable), payment portal or application (e.g. Paypal), application or other content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or through the Site. It describes the information that we collect from you, how we use and disclose your information, and the steps we take to protect your information. By using the Site, you consent to the privacy practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use the Site.
The information that we collect:
We collect several types of information from and about users of the Site directly from you when you provide it to us or third parties authorized to share such information with us, as well as automatically through your use of the Site. When you use the Site, we may collect or you may provide us with information, including Personal Information. “Personal Information,” means information by which you may be personally identified, including your name, e-mail address, mailing address, mobile phone number, age, gender, date of birth, as well as additional sensitive information for grant evaluation and grant-making purposes, such as your social security number, passport number driver’s license number and other similar types of information or forms of identification). If you do provide us with Personal Information, we will store and use that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
When you visit the Site, we may also automatically receive and record certain information from your computer, web browser and/or mobile device, including your IP address or other device address or ID, web browser and/or device type, hardware and software settings and configurations, the web pages or sites that you visit just before or just after visiting the Site, the pages you view on the Site, your actions on the Site, and the dates and times that you visit, access, or use the Site.
You may directly provide us with your Personal Information in the following ways:
Website Forms. You may provide us with your Personal Information by filling out forms on the Site or a third party website (e.g. Submittable) for which we will receive a copy of such information. Such information you provide may include your name, email address, mailing address and telephone number.
Grants. You may provide us with your Personal Information through one of our third party service providers (e.g. Submittable) for purposes of applying for a grant or other funding. Such Personal Information may include sensitive information, including your social security number, passport number, driver’s license number and other similar types of information or forms of identification. Such information will be stored by such third party and subject to its privacy policies and practices.
Email Communications or Newsletters. You may provide us with your name and email address in order to receive newsletters or other communications. We may collect information from you through records and copies of correspondence with you, including email address.
Feedback. You may provide us with your Personal Information (including contact information) when your provide feedback about the Site or our services.
Contacting Us. You may provide us with your Personal Information when you contact us or request information about us, the Site and our services (whether by email or other means).
Cookies Information
When you use the Site, we may send one or more cookies (which are small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters) to your computer or mobile device, to track information about your use of the Site, help analyze our web page flow, customize our content, measure promotional effectiveness, and promote trust and safety. You are always free to decline our cookies upon visiting the Site, although doing so may interfere with your ability to use the Site or certain features of the Site. We may also use Google Analytics, Squarespace’s analytics tools or a similar service that uses cookies to help us analyze how users use the Site. Third parties such as advertising networks, analytics providers, and widget providers may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you access or use our Site. Currently, our systems do not recognize browser “do-not-track” requests. You may, however, disable certain tracking as discussed in this section (e.g., by declining cookies), but such disabling may impair use of the Site.

We may use your Personal Information to process donations you may make through the Site and/or evaluate your eligibility for and fulfill the award of grants that you may apply for through the Site.
We may use information collected from cookies or other automatic means to: (a) personalize our Site and services, such as remembering your information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Site; (b) better understand how users access and use our Site; (c) monitor and analyze the effectiveness of the Site; (d) monitor aggregate site usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed; and (e) perform research and analytics, including to analyze and report on usage and performance of the Site.

We make certain information available to third parties to comply with various reporting obligations, and for business or marketing purposes. When possible, we provide this information in a de-identified way.
We may disclose the information we collect from you to third party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents who perform functions on our behalf.
We may share aggregate or de-identified information about users and their use of the Site with third parties and publicly for marketing, advertising, research or similar purposes.
We may disclose the Personal Information we collect from you to a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of IndieSpace’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Information held by IndieSpace about our Site or users is among the assets transferred.
Your Choices:
You may, of course, decline to share certain information with us, in which case we may not be able to provide to you some of the features and functionality of the Site.
If you do not wish to receive email offers or newsletters from us, you can opt-out of receiving email information from us by using the unsubscribe process at the bottom of the email. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and applications (e.g. Submittable, Paypal, etc.). Any access to and use of such linked websites is not governed by this Privacy Policy, but instead is governed by the privacy policies of those third party websites. We are not responsible for the information practices of such third party websites.
Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy:
The Site is not intended for and we do not allow children under 13 years of age to use the Site. We do not knowingly collect or maintain information from persons under 13 years of age, and no part of the Site is directed to persons under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, do not use or access the Site at any time or in any manner. If we learn that information has been collected through the Site from persons under 13 years of age and without verifiable parental consent, we will take the appropriate steps to delete this information. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under 13 years of age has provided us with information, please alert us at hello@indiespace.org to request that we delete the information from our systems.
Our Commitment to Data Security:
We have implemented measures designed to protect your Personal Information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction; however, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, so we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us through the Site, and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our safeguards. We cannot control the actions of other users or other third parties with whom you may choose to share your information and therefore we cannot and do not guarantee that information you post through the Site will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site. Even after removal, copies of information that you have posted may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored such information.
We retain information as long as it is reasonably necessary and relevant for our operations, and/or to comply with the law, prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigation, or enforce our Terms or other agreements.
Visitors from Outside the United States:
This Site is controlled and operated by IndieSpace in the United States, which may have less protections than your jurisdiction of residence. If you choose to access the Site from outside the United States, you acknowledge that you will be transferring your information, including Personal Information, outside of those regions to the United States for storage and processing, as necessary to provide to you the products and services available through the Site.
Changes and Updates to this Privacy Policy:
This Privacy Policy is current as of the “Last Updated” date set forth above. We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, so please be sure to check back periodically. We will post any changes to this Privacy Policy on the Site. If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy that materially affect our practices with regard to the Personal Information we have previously collected from you, we may notify you through a notice on the Site or another notification method. You are responsible for periodically visiting the Site and this Privacy Policy to check for any changes.
