We’re excited to share that our coworking program is getting a refresh—with a new name, a new vibe, and even more ways to build community. Welcome to IndieSpace Together.
This new version reflects what we’ve seen really matters to artists: the conversations, the connections, and the space to be supported and inspired. While coworking is still part of the experience, this gathering is evolving into something deeper—a consistent space to meet others, ask questions, explore ideas, and engage with the IndieSpace team and invited guests.
We’re also making a couple of exciting updates:
Extended hours, so you can drop in when it works best for you
More consistent scheduling, to help make IndieSpace Together a regular part of your creative rhythm and give you the opportunity to plan ahead.
This is about showing up for each other—and growing stronger, together.
What Is IndieSpace Together?
IndieSpace Together is a community-powered gathering space for artists to connect, recharge, and grow. Whether you’re coming to get some work done, meet new people, or just be in the mix, here’s what you can expect:
Support with IndieSpace applications and guidance on how to access our year-round resources
Opportunities to connect with our team and special guests—like grant writers, development consultants, producing collectives, elected officials, and foundation partners—who will join us at different sessions to share tools and insight based on community needs
Activities that energize and inspire, from advocacy conversations and documentary chats to games, books, and creative exchanges
A rotating venue series, with sessions held at different theater spaces across NYC, giving folks a chance to discover new artistic homes
Coworking, an opportunity to get work done outside of your home, in community with other indie theater makers. Bring your laptop, your notebook, or that project you've been meaning to finish—and enjoy the company of others doing the same.
This isn’t just a place to work—it’s a space to gather, grow, and feel part of something bigger.
Our First Gathering: Wednesday, April 16, 2025
At West Village Rehearsal Co-Op from 1 PM – 9 PM
Join us for a full day of coworking, creativity, and meaningful connection.
Come for a little while or stay all day—whatever works for you.
Here’s the flow of the day:
Potluck | 1pm – 9pm
Bring a dish to share with the community! Whether it’s homemade or picked up on the way, the goal is to come together over food and conversation. IndieSpace will also provide snacks and refreshments throughout the day.
Coworking | 1pm – 6pm
Need a break from working alone at home? Bring your laptop, notebook, noise canceling headphones and whatever project you’re working on and spend the afternoon surrounded by fellow artists. The space is yours—quiet focus or collaborative energy, all are welcome.
Art Stations & Coloring Books | 1pm – 9pm
We’ll have a dedicated area set up with art supplies, coloring books, and creative prompts. Whether you want to create quietly on your own or with others, this is a chance to unwind and reset. It’s been a stressful time—so take a moment to zone out, tune in, and care for yourself.
Networking Together | 3pm – 4pm
Join us for an intentional pause—a cafecito hour of sorts—designed for connection. Grab a tea or coffee, and take part in casual, guided networking time with the IndieSpace team and fellow creatives. No pressure, just conversation and community.
Game Night | 6pm – 9pm
As the evening sets in, we shift into play mode. Come solo or bring a friend for a low-key game night featuring a mix of board games and interactive group games. It’s a fun, easy way to connect, laugh, and end the day with good vibes.
This day is designed to be flexible, welcoming, and centered on the kind of connection that keeps our creative community strong.
Special Guests – Privy Producing Collective
We are THRILLED that Privy Producing Collective will be joining us at IndieSpace Together during the coworking section!
They shared the following: “At IndieSpace Together, come and talk to us about your artistic project! Whether you're just starting to dream about it or you've got a venue and dates, we can help you build a budget, revise a grant, strategize around hiring, marketing and fundraising, and ideate concrete steps towards making the thing happen. As artists ourselves, we are adept at helping other artists translate their creative impulses into production.”
