A Seat At the Table

We’ve been cooking up an idea for a new program for some time that will provide incredible access to our artists.

In the spirit of IndieSpace’s values of accessibility, transparency, and bridge building, we are establishing a program called A Seat At the Table (or SATT), where we bring one person from a small budget organization to meetings with funders.

It’s an opportunity for an artist or individual at a smaller organization to introduce themselves, build relationships, see an example of how these meetings go, and hear what type of questions the funders ask.

IndieSpace is visualizing this as a professional development opportunity for newer organizations and/or members of smaller indie theater companies that may not have access to meetings with program officers at larger foundations. And likewise, we want to introduce the funder to the smaller organizations that may not be on their radar in their support of indie theater in New York.
